Wayne has over 25 years’ experience is the Utility’s Industry and 40 years’ experience in Surfacing, Reinstatement & Aggregates. As CEO & Joint Founder, Wayne takes pride in the accomplishments of WM Walsh and what he has been able to achieve collaboratively with the team that Wayne has assembled to compliment his resolute, professional and entrepreneurial spirit. Wayne is enthusiastic about excelling in delivery and client service and is recognised as a dynamic leader inside and outside of the business and excels at being a catalyst of continual personal and professional development for all employees and the recognition of WM Walsh as a sector leader in Utility Reinstatement. The culture within the business of collaboration, teamwork & pride is a direct reflection of Wayne’s philosophy towards business and is also mirrored in his strong awareness and importance of integrity and familial values.

DEBBIE WALSH

Head of Finance

Debbie, along with Wayne, founded WM Walsh in 2001 and has over 25 Years of experience in the Utility’s Sector as the financial backbone of the business and custodian of a multitude of core centralised business functions. As Head of Finance, Debbie has oversight and responsibility for the financial and business objectives by providing strategic and financial guidance to ensure that all financial commitments are met as well as developing all the necessary policies and procedures to ensure sound financial management and control. Debbie is right at the centre of the business and has years of experience of operating in the Utility’s Industry. She shares the same passion and dedication to the business objectives and culture as Wayne. Working together, Debbie and Wayne are a powerful and dynamic partnership. Debbie has years of experience in finance and comes from a banking and financial services background, solidifying and ensuring that WM Walsh operate at the highest levels of compliance and integrity and leads the company’s support and administration functions.

ROB LEWIS

Managing Director

Rob has been an integral part of WM Walsh since 2016 in senior Operational Management positions and has spearheaded the strategic growth and improvement plans to immense success. Promoted to Managing Director in 2021, Rob has had great success in targeting and leading the company to strategic framework wins with a multitude of clients and is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the business functions, client Liaison and relationship management. Rob’s knowledge of the industry is formidable, seconded only by his passion and understanding what a cohesive and collaborative working environment is, defining the vision and standards set internally and ensuring that all operations and functions undertaken by the business are grounded in compliance, safety and cost consciousness. Rob has 20+ Years experience in the Construction and Utility’s industry, he has held Senior Management positions in leading utility organisations such as Morrison Utility Services. He draws upon this experience and knowledge to lead the business in the day-to-day operations and works closely with Wayne, Debbie and the SMT, developing strategic commercial plans and executing them in his efficient and direct approach. The health, safety and wellbeing of all stakeholders is one of Rob’s fundamental areas of focus and will continue to support our key clients in delivering upon their key targets and developing methods of working whether that be innovative solutions to construction challenges or process simplification.

Craig been with WM Walsh since 2010 and joined as a Health and Safety Advisor and progressed to SHEQ Director in 2012 and has been a valued member of the team since starting with the business. One of WM Walsh’s core values is ensuring the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of all stakeholders involved. Having a robust and effective SHEQ Team is key to the success of the business and Craig is key to managing the team, processes, and responsibilities of the core SHEQ functionality. WM Walsh has an exemplary record with regards to Health, Safety and Wellbeing. We have not recorded any LTI’s (Lost time injuries) in over 9 years and a factor to this achievement is the culture of wellbeing within WM Walsh. Craig along with our SHEQ team & compliance officers are trained and are experienced professionals in their discipline of work and ensure that our workforce and supporting roles are fully trained & competent for the tasks they undertake, and this mentality is imbedded throughout WM Walsh Surfacing. WM Walsh Surfacing is accredited to the highest standards of quality, environmental and safety management standards, holding UKAS accredited ISO qualifications (ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, 45001:2018). Along with UKAS ISO, WM Walsh are accredited via RoSPA, FORS, Achilles UVDB (B2), CHAS & SSIP and are a member of Streetworks UK. Craig is responsible for ensuring that our accreditations and qualifications are fully up to date and managed correctly whilst our SMT and wider management structure ensures that our management systems and safe systems of working are undertaken at the highest level of quality.

Finance Director

MATT WALSH

Finance Director

Matt has been with the business since 2013 and has imbedded himself into the business and core functions of WM Walsh including but not limited to central Finance functions and Commercial duties whilst Matt trained and achieved the role of Quantity Surveyor. The Commercial responsibilities that Matt has included valuing and applying for works completed through the robust commercial processes and ensuring payments are receipted and allocated. Moving forwards from his commercial training, applying his skills and enthusiasm into quantity surveying, expanding his knowledge of the Utilities Industry and becoming proficient in the aspects of what goes into running a business, it was the natural progression for Matt to then expand his knowledge of finance and solidify his future potential and position as Finance Director. Being promoted to Finance Director in late 2023, Matt is now undertaking on core finance responsibilities and working closely with Debbie (Head of Finance) to ensure the future of WM Walsh is secured and that there are clear lines of succession whilst fortifying the SMT and preparing WM Walsh for the strategic growth that is planned and being implemented.

Richard Stonham has been a Contract Director of our Power Contract’s within WM Walsh since 2019. He brings with him his years of experience in the industry and has a proven record of operational performance and client collaboration. Richard drives operational performance and has a strong commercial awareness which ensures cost consciousness compounded with driving efficiency and improving productivity. Richard and Emma work together collaboratively to ensure the integrity and performance of both our Power and Gas Sectors and are driven by operational excellence and Commercial performance.

Contract Director - Gas

Emma joined WM Walsh Surfacing in late 2021 as Performance Manger, safeguarding and improving the operational and Streetworks performance of our workforce and ensuring that our KPIs are met and exceeded. Emma was then promoted to Contract Manager in March 2022 and then Contract Director in 2023 of which Emma is the Contract Lead of one of our Key Frameworks with Cadent Gas Limited. Emma brings with her over 20 years of experience in the industry and is deeply knowledgeable in Streetworks performance, Streetworks legislation and Contract Management. Emma and Richard work together collaboratively to ensure the integrity and performance of both our Power and Gas Sectors and are driven by operational excellence and Commercial performance.

Commercial Manager

Ulus is WM Walsh’s Commercial Manager and has oversight of the day-to-day Commercial Management of our Power and Gas Frameworks’ and manages the Team of Quantity Surveyors in the organisation. Ulus has been with WM Walsh since 2020 and has over 30 years’ experience in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying. Ulus’s knowledge of reinstatement and the Utilities Industry adds true value to the company and the performance of the Commercial Team which is reflected in the excellent Commercial relationship with our key clients.

Commercial Director

James joined WM Walsh in August 2024 as Commercial Director. James has over 10 years’ experience in the Utilities Industry, Reinstatement and Civils and over 16 Years in Construction in senior management and leadership roles. WM Walsh has had remarkable success in recent years in growth and capitalising on opportunities and with James’s experience and history in business development and strategy, will strengthen the already impressive and successful SMT in WM Walsh. James is a keen strategist and recognizes the importance of making business decisions and tangible improvements being based on the foundation of robust business information and data.
