Job Summary
The Streetworks Co-ordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing street works activities in line with statutory requirements and operational needs. Working within an established team, the role ensures all works are properly noticed, permitted, and compliant with legislation, while minimising disruption to the public. The position reports to the Streetworks Manager and Contract Director, supporting both operational delivery and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all street works activities in compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and permit schemes.
Submit, manage, and track permit applications, notices, and variations via local authority systems.
Liaise with local authorities, clients, and internal operational teams to plan and schedule works effectively.
Ensure works are programmed efficiently to meet contractual deadlines and minimise disruption.
Monitor permit conditions, restrictions, and embargoes, ensuring full compliance.
Maintain accurate records of all street works activities and documentation.
Support the planning of reinstatement works in line with operational priorities
Work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, and Customer Advisors to ensure smooth delivery
Escalate risks, delays, or compliance issues to the Streetworks Manager and Contract Director
Assist in coordinating traffic management requirements and road space bookings
Compliance & Regulatory Duties:
Ensure all notices and permits meet statutory requirements and deadlines
Monitor compliance with permit conditions and local authority requirements
Support audits and inspections relating to street works compliance
Keep up to date with changes in legislation and local authority policies
Promote best practice in street works coordination and compliance

Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience in a street works, utilities, or highways coordination role
Good knowledge of NRSWA and permit schemes (essential)
NRSWA accreditation (Supervisor or Operative) desirable but not essential
Experience using street works management systems (e.g., Street Manager)
Competent in Microsoft Office applications
Full UK driving licence (preferred)
Reporting Structure
Reports to the Streetworks Manager and Contract Director
Works closely with operational teams, SHEQ, and customer service departments
Liaises externally with local authorities and clients
Working Conditions
Office-based role with occasional site visits if required
Fast-paced environment with strict deadlines and compliance requirements
May require flexibility to meet operational demands
